Suzanne’s Comments
Set in 1965 at the height of the Civil Rights Movement, it actually is comprised of two parallel and expertly co-mingled plots.  The characterizations are priceless, and if you appreciate more than a touch of the absurd and the bizarre to go along with your American history, this tale is for you!  It is a wonderful beach read.  Stay away from the movie, which is a travesty!
