Health & Wellness

Veterans Day, NaNoWriMo, and Arts & Health Month.

Can you identify the common thread?

Well, they’re all officially honored in November…but perhaps you Googled it and figured that out already.

A form of art that may benefit your health is expressive writing...so now the connection between Arts & Health and National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is starting to make sense.

I think we’re getting somewhere!

The last thread that may not immediately spring to mind is the potential benefit of expressive writing for our veterans.  The Veterans Writing Project believes that the act of writing can be not only literary but also social and therapeutic.  Our display also includes memoirs and perspectives exploring veterans issues more broadly.

Here is a sampling of what we have.  Stop by and take a look!
